A few FOs and a couple WIPs!

I'm making good on my post about keeping up with my posts and my knitting and I have a couple of FOs and a couple of WIPs to show off.

Firstly, here's a better picture of my Mother of Dragons shrug:

Secondly, I spun a beautiful new skin of yarn using some merino wool that a friend of mine picked up on a trip she took. I call it, Cream in my Coffee.

And finally, with Giftmas approaching, I have things to knit for little kids. I have three little girls and one little boy for whom to knit.  I am making three different ragdolls, one for each girl, and a ragdoll puppy dog for the little boy.

Here is the first doll:

And, of course, the cat had to check her out, too.

More posts, soon! T'is the season to knit things, so a-knitting I shall go!

Spinning until dizzy

I'm going to make this a quick post with lots of pretty pictures.  I received an Ashford Joy from a good friend, as mentioned in my previous post, and have been spinning up a storm.

Here are pictures of my new handspun!

Fixing the Stash

Well, it's time I organised the stash. It's been sitting in a corner for far too long.   I've completed steps 1 and 2. When completed, the yarn will be organised and accessible instead of sitting in a giant mountain in the corner of my living room.

Many FOs!

Well, another several months and another several projects to report on.  It would seem the last time I updated was after I finished the hoodie sweater for my son.   Much has been done, since.

Here are a few pictures of some of the projects I've done since the fall.

FOs, almost-FOs, WIPs, and stash!

I've been fairly busy with my knitting lately. Still, it's nothing to brag about, unlike before.

I made a pair of monkeys for my mother.

I finished a drop stitch scarf for my hairdresser

I knitted a Steggie for my son (but the zipper still needs to be sewn on)

I started knitting a blanket for my brawlin' grandma:

And I started a Tempting sweater for myself, on which I'll be adding the cables modification.

I also went to the Knitters Fair in Kitchener, which is the largest knitting festival in the country. Over 70 vendors, and all knitting related. I picked up some yarn from my friend Cindy, and from Shall We Knit.

Here's some yarn porn:

Lots of FOs

Firstly, a change to the blog. I'm not really using flickr anymore because they put a limit on how many images you're allowed to have, and that's balls. I'll just provide links to all the images instead. Just click them and don't be lazy :P

Finished a few things.

Finished the baby blanket for Joe and Diana's little one, and I finished the mobile monster bunny cell phone case for Lisa.

I went to the Knitter's Frolic again yesterday. A few good deals, but last year was way better. I didn't pick up a swift like I wanted to, but I did manage to get a nice blocking kit (8 long blocking wires, 4 small ones, and 2 flexible ones, with a package of T pins) for $35. They gave me the wrong kit (the upgraded one) and I didn't notice until I got home, so that was $10 I saved.

I also got a nice bag of 5 chunky weight Noro Silk Gardens for $35, as well as a new row counter, and a nice bottle of knitted garment shampoo. Nice haul.

I'm going to pick up a swift for my birthday from Linda's on Tuesday before knitting night starts. Looking forward to it. :)

Update on the WIPs

Well, I have a few things on the go now. Nothing that's really lit a fire under my arse until now.

First off, I have finished my first sock and have gone a little bit into the second sock.

I have also picked up Kat's bag and finished the purse part. The strap part is now in progress.

Third of all, I decided to make a couple baby blankets for friends who are expecting. I picked up some super gorgeous organic cotton yarn and am making a pinwheel blanket and a star blanket. I will start on the pinwheel today and hope to get it done in a couple weeks. I think I'll set down all other projects to see just how much I can get done in a week. It looks like a pretty easy pattern overall. We'll see how it goes.

More WIPs

Started a sweater for Nicholas:
Nick's Sweater WIP

And am almost finished the hat for Hong:
Hong's Hat WIP

Still working on Kat's purse.

Got some new yarn in my stash too! Got these yummies at the Stitch 'n Pitch:
Red Heart Soft Touch SRK Perth

I have plans for the sexy green yarn, but haven't decided what to do with the soft touch yarn. I also got 3 more skeins of that beautiful malabrigo merino wool. I'm going to use that to either make myself a shrug, or make myself a winter set. (hat, scarf, mitts)

What do you think I should make?
