I'm not much of a Starfucker but I do smile when I hear about famous people who knit. The latest one I heard of was Ryan Gosling -- who, by the way, is Canadian, so DOUBLE PROPS.

I'm leaving on a jet plane
But I do know when I'll be back again. NYC bound. And, of course, my knitting is coming with me. I hope I find a nice yarn store.

Raggedy Anne part 2
Awhile back I spun my first yarn. It was a beautiful brilliant red top merino. Being a complete noob, I didn't realise that it is okay if you overspin your yarn and unspun a lot of it . Needless to say, it was felty looking and ugly.
Now that I have a couple more skeins under my belt, not to mention the awesome new spindle, I took it upon myself to "fix" the yarn.
I spun about 50 grams of yarn, made an Andean bracelet on Justin's recommendation, and plied it to itself.
Here is the old Raggedy Anne (before I untwisted it):

The rest of the fibre!
I finally finished spinning yarn from the bag of fibre Cindy gave me. It all turned out so beautiful! I did the first skein with a wooden spindle I got at the Kitchener Waterloo Knitters Fair and the other, newer skein with a spindle Justin gave me. I keep forgetting what it's called. Ashford, I think?
Here are the pictures.

And now I'm going to start some new handspun. New colour = exciting! I think I'll use some merino I picked up in Kitchener. Sooo stoked :)

The Cursed Socks
They're finished :D
Technically, the beautiful mooshy yarn was cursed. BUT I broke the curse by finishing a pair of awesome Mystery Socks.

Requiem
I finished spinning a little bit of some fiber that Cindy gave me. It's soft and smooshy and purple and reminded me of the powers of the Nictus. Since I already have a spun yarn called Nictus I decided to name this yarn after one of the enemies in City of Heroes, Requiem.
Here's a picture of the skein. Sooooo purty!

MOAR CHANGES
Yep. There are more changes on the way. I just registered a new domain which should be updated in your bookmarks.
Yep. I'm up knit creek without a paddle. I'm working on new art for the page to reflect the new name.
I've been knitting a fair bit recently. Here are some more of my works in progress and a couple FOs.

Projects on the go
Well, it's been a productive beginning of the year. I have two current projects on the go and have completed a couple. I think I'll cast on the final bit of my custom design and we'll go from there after it's done. I'll need to knit it a second time but that can wait. I scoped out some beautiful hand dyed merino from Happy Go Lucky Yarn. I met the owner of the yarn on the interbutts through a mutual friend and fell in love with her colourways. I love this one in particular because it reminds me of my own Early Labour Armwarmers.
Anyway, with that out of the way, here are some pictures of my WIPs and my FOs.

Anyway, with that out of the way, here are some pictures of my WIPs and my FOs.
Finished Objects
Both are made of Estelle Cloud Cotton which is 100% organic cotton. So so soft!

O_o... The things people come up with.
All I can say is this is pretty effing cool. I might have to try it, just for shits and giggles.

Not bad.
Last year I knit with 3.391km worth of yarn. At least, the finished objects (plus one of two socks).
Will I knit more this year? Let's hope so.
On the needles now: Hotshot hoodie for my yoga instructor. Finished: a baby onesie which just needs buttons sewn on.
Go me!

Fixing the Stash
Well, it's time I organised the stash. It's been sitting in a corner for far too long. I've completed steps 1 and 2. When completed, the yarn will be organised and accessible instead of sitting in a giant mountain in the corner of my living room.
